|NeLMA is the rules writing agency for Eastern White Pine and other northeastern softwood species. Their website contains softwood grading rules, pattern illustrations, installation tips and a variety of useful reference information.||The WWPA represents and provides grading services to softwood lumber manufacturers in the 12 western states and Alaska. Their website contains a wealth of technical information that is very useful.|
|American Lumber Standard Committee, Inc.||U.S. Forest Service Forest Products Laboratory|
|Established under the Board of Review, the ALSC accredits and oversees the various grading agencies. Each accredited agency must comply with ALSC regulations, and are subject to inspection.||A division of the US Department of Agriculture, this department is the “scientific” arm of the U S Forest Service. They also publish the Wood Handbook, which addresses the use of Wood as an engineering material.|
|Northeast Kiln Drying Association||State University of NY (SUNY) College of Environmental Science and Forestry|
|A professional association that promotes professional standards within the kiln drying industry.||One of the foremost forestry programs in the region. SUNY plays an active role in forestry research and technology.|
|UNH Cooperative Extension||Grafton County Conservation District|
|Caring for NH Forests since 1925, the UNH Cooperative Extension is an educational resource for NH residents, promoting effective stewardship and wildlife habitat improvement.||Provides residents in the district with technical, educational and financial resources to preserve, protect and improve the area’s natural resources.|
|Sanborn Mills Farm is a traditional NH working farm, dating from the early-19th century. The farm, sawmill and grist mill have been patiently restored by F. Colin Cabot, our proprietor.||A New Hampshire Department of Agriculture “Farm of Distinction”, this farm grows award-winning Christmas Trees in the nearby village of Swiftwater. The trees are available by mail order or at choose-and-cut days beginning the day after Thanksgiving each year… a NH tradition!|
